He earned a Master’s degree in Tibetan Performing Arts in 2000 from the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) in Dharamsala, India, where he had the privilege to learn from some of the most celebrated Tibetan artists.
At TIPA, Tsering immersed himself in Tibetan secular dance and music, progressing from student to instructor. He has since mastered Tibetan Opera, encompassing various forms of folk dance and Cham (secret dance), characterized by vibrant, masked ritual performances at significant Tibetan festivals.
Tsering has traveled extensively to share his expertise worldwide and frequently appears on major Tibetan media outlets, inspiring audiences to engage with Tibetan culture.
Furthering his acting education, he trained in France, the Netherlands, India, and the United States, particularly at the Barbizon International School of Acting and Modeling in San Francisco.
His film career includes notable works, such as the Oscar-nominated film *Himalaya* (1999). Tsering has collaborated with acclaimed composers like Michael Becker, contributing to the original soundtrack of the Emmy-winning documentary *Women of Tibet – A Quiet Revolution* (2009).

He received a nomination for Outstanding Male Performance in a Play at the 2015 Craig Noel Awards in San Diego, and he won the award for Outstanding Choreography at the 2016 San Francisco Theater Bay Area Awards.
Tsering co-produced and starred in the independent feature film *My Son Tenzin*, directed by Tasshi Wangchuk and produced by Seykhar Films, which explores the tensions between traditional and modern Tibetan culture.
